But it certainly grows on banana bread! Well, at least it did for Navy Blue Dress and I while we were doing our project for English class together.
Goodness, there is so much to say about what we did for this project. You already know what we did and why, and if not you can go look at past posts to find out, but it’s hard to sum up all of our memories and experiences in doing this together but if one thing is for sure, I was sad when it was over. Only until I realized that just because it was over for school didn’t have to mean that it was over for us or the people that we are helping by donating the money.
Even though I previously said that money was “growing on banana bread” for us but I was just making a funny pun because although we made over 200 dollars it would be wrong for me to insinuate that it was easy or was only a loaf away. We definitely got rejected by people more than once but it didn’t stop us and if it had then we wouldn’t have been able to meet some of the wonderful people we did.
Navy Blue Dress and I didn’t have to get together to make and sell banana bread very many times to make as much money or have as much fun as we did. I would say that what we set out to do was accomplished and it gave us a lot of experience in going door to door and in being shut down or happily welcomed.
If we do do something in the future I would love to put up signs at our old middle school and our high school and other places so people can order online and then we can go and deliver the food, this time more than just banana bread, and collect the money there and then donate that.
I hope you have a lovely day and eat something yummy.

Last night Navy Blue Dress and I went to this project showcase after school. You know how Navy Blue Dress and I are doing the banana bread project? Well, you got to choose what you did for you projects and the showcase was to see what other people had done for their project. We helped set up everything and afterwards people started setting their things up. The people at tables had more of a walk-around and see what each project is about and then there were also seven or so groups that presented in front of everybody. We had a lot of fun and some of the projects and people’s ideas were impressive and/or creative and fun. The only problem was that the presentations were taking too long and we had already been there for three hours not including school.
Overall, it was neat to see all of the projects and we also got extra credit for our class by doing this. We had no expectations when we went since we didn’t really know what to expect. I also had a problem, or something working in my mind because if we were to present or even be at one of the tables it seems so simple or plain to say that we make homemade banana bread, sell it door-to-door, and then donate the money. The problem is that it is so much more than that between meeting both rude and lovely people and everything that we’re learning while doing this. I didn’t know how we would be able to express that to anyone though and have them truly understand. I told Navy Blue Dress and she agreed with me and I said that we should do something bigger or something to show people its worth or even go along with our idea of selling things at school. We don’t know what to do but the awesome thing about our project is that it doesn’t ever have to stop.
If you have any ideas to help with this conundrum then it would help so much!
Be good humans.

Okay, so I have the perfect idea for what Navy Blue Dress and I should do next for our banana bread project. The requirement for whatever our project could have been was that you are supposed to make a positive difference in your community. To add to what we are doing already, making and selling homemade banana bread from door to door on weekends, I had a thought that we could make something easy like cookies or muffins and tell people at school what we’re doing and ask them if they would like to preorder some. For instance, we could give them a flier explaining what we’re doing so that they can read that on their own and give to other people and we can ask them if they would like to pay for whatever amount of cookies or muffins and then tell them that they will have it brought to them at school on a certain day. Get it? I might not be explaining myself very clear but I want this to work and am excited but hope that this doesn’t overtake Navy Blue Dress and I like the picture of Woody above.
So far, as far as the food options go for people to “pre-order”, we have thought of cookies and muffins. We don’t want something that is hard to carry and keep nice like cupcakes and we figured that if we tried to sell banana bread that people may not know what it is and if they do they probably don’t want a whole loaf of it, even if it is a mini one. If you have any other ideas besides these two then we would greatly appreciate it and will respond back.
I hope I am not geting myself too excited over nothing because Navy Blue Dress and I are still just talking about this as a total up in the air idea. However eager and enthusiastic I am about this idea, I only want to do it if Navy Blue Dress wants to do it honestly and not only because I want to do it. Because otherwise it wouldn’t be as enjoyable. We would also have to be able to really work together because if one of use doesn’t have time to make it with the other person for some reason before the date to give the “customers” their goodies then we would just need to make sure that we are staying in constant communication and working together. Which that should really be no problem for us since we’re best friends and see each other every day for at least 5 hours.
Whether or not this idea of mine will go through or even if it does if it’ll be successful, Navy Blue Dress and I will still have tons of fun together making the banana bread and maybe even giving some to my mom to sell at her work. The picture below is me dancing with Navy Blue Dress when we make banana bread!
Go have some delicious food and dance. Be good humans.

Hello everyone!!! How are you? Hope you are great!!
This past weekend, Gold Glitter Pumps and I sold more banana bread! Though, we learned something new this time around. Make sure you have everything you need to make it before you start making it. We got through mixing most of the stuff, when we realized that we didn’t have baking powder. We had to go to the store and get some before we could continue making banana bread. We eventually finished the loafs and were able to sell them.
We went out into the neighborhood and we were really excited. When we started either people weren’t home or didn’t want any. This went on for the first about 15 houses. Then we came to one house and we asked them if they wanted banana bread. She said that she actually was baking tonight, so no she didn’t need any. We started leaving the house, but then she asked how much they were. We told her the price, and she asked us if they would poison the teenage boys she was sending them with tomorrow. Of course, we said no. Excitedly she went to go get the money to pay for two loafs. As we gave her the two loafs of bread her two kids came down. She gave one loaf to her son to try, and she said she might buy more from us if her son liked them. Her son ended up taking it and eating most of it. Her daughter also came and grabbed one for herself to eat. In the end the mother bought 6 loafs of banana bread! We started going to more houses, and again people weren’t home or weren’t interested. We ended up going home and agreed that Gold Glitter Pump’s mom would take them to work to sell. With lasts weekends sales we have raised over $200! We are so excited that we have been able to raise this much and that the money will go to help those who need it.
Have you ever done anything to raise money for those in need? If so, do tell.

I know that this doesn’t seem like it’ll be about banana bread or anything happy for that matter but just trust me for a moment. Recently I have been more quiet, exhausted, and anxiety ridden because my schedule is so busy that I have to try to figure out how to fit sleep in. So I am naturally enjoying the things I wouldn’t get excited about and they are what get me from day to day. I have had a few people ask me if anything was wrong or if I was mad at them and I assured them that they were not the problem. But! I cannot wait for this weekend because me and Navy Blue Dress are going to make banana bread again this weekend and even though I enjoyed it a lot before, I am incredibly excited about it and am looking forward to doing it with my best friend. Especially since it will be her birthday in 12 days! I would also really like to tell every single one of you that even though it sounds redundant and cliché, I believe in you and more importantly, believe in yourself because I know you can do it and when you believe you can do it you’re already half way there. I am also glad to say that I will have my bestie there to also make sure I don’t eat all of the banana bread before we even sell it!
Have an amazing day and got do something you love with someone you love. ❤

This has been a hard lesson for me to grasp and I don’t think I have completely embraced this yet. And on a side note, I really admire and like Bill Cosby. When I saw this quote as I was trying of something to write about for english, I felt like someone had described me because one of my biggest problems is trying to make everyone happy. Not that this is a bad thing because wanting to make people happy is not abad quality but trying to please everyone is impossible. There is just no one answer that everyone will 100% be good with and like. It’s just not going to happen, that is why we have compromises. I understand this idea because it just makes sense but putting this idea into practice is the harder part for me because I am not used to that. When I found this picture It also made me remember earlier today when Navy Blue Dress and I made and sold banana bread and we even did it with our best friend today. As we were doing it though we got more questions like, “Are you sure there are no nuts in it?”, “Is it gluten free?”, and “Are there chocolate chips in it?” It made me kind of flustered because I wanted to be able to give the banana bread to people the way that they wanted it but the problem is if we specialize it, to say, only gluten-free then we will also lose a lot of “customers” as well. It’s hard t tell people that you can’t give them what they want, especially when they are being really nice and sweet and then you have to disappoint them. Of course, the problem with companies nowadays is that they try to have more breadth than depth and capitalism and most definitely businesses cannot succeed with more breadth than depth. I need to learn how to make people happy and satisfied as much as I can without tearing myself apart and then if it doesn’t work I’ll have to be okay knowing that I gave it my best shot and I can’t make someone be happy if they don’t want to be anyways.
Try and go and make somebody happy today, but no matter what happens, don’t let it bring you down but rather lift you higher.

The time has come for another update on the project. If you have no idea what project I am talking about then Please feel free to look at the other posts about it. In the meantime let’s get down to business talking about everything that has been going on. Newsflash, there’s not much. And before you go judging and thinking that Navy Blue Dress and I don’t care about it, it’s not like that at all. You see, every weekend that we have time to make banana bread and sell it that weekend, we will do it, but lately I haven’t had the time to sell it, seriously I just came back, literally, from Las Vegas for the past four days playing volleyball for three of them and having to sound awful when I talk from yelling so much. Anyways, besides me being busy, and not to mention Navy Blue Dress as well, we do all we can to keep up since it isn’t like we don’t want to do it. To prove it to you there was even that weekend that I talked about my last project post on how I could only make the banana bread with Navy Blue Dress but not sell with her but she still wanted to sell them, and she did! So before you think that we are just lazy people saying one thing and doing another about trying to make this project work, it’s not true and I wish that I had more time to work on it.
Besides that there’s not much to tell and I would really appreciate some sleep and tea and ice on my knee. Have a really good week and try not to get caught up in the things that try to weigh us down, like homework, work, money problems, or just being busy, but try and see the happy things because you are growing older everyday and don’t look back on your life remembering all the negative but rather the happy things. . . Just a thought.
Goodbye for now.

Another week has come and gone and more bananas fill the oven and the heavenly aroma of bread fills the air of the house once more. Navy Blue Dress and I are making more banana bread for the project and it takes some serious self-control to not eat them all. Some are out of the oven and we are still making more. However I will not be able to sell them with Navy Blue Dress this time because I have a play tonight, a tournament tomorrow, and then Super Bowl. I am really upset though that I can’t help her and I made sure that she was okay doing it because I would never push her to do something like that and she said that she wanted to do it so more power to her.
We are going to put some pictures up of us making the banana bread and if you guys want the recipe then comment and like our posts so that we know. Go eat some bread, watch a movie, and enjoy life. Love you. (In a totally friendly way lol.)
